History of Anden Design & Build

When Andy Spriet and Dennis Plowright married Helen and Joyce DeBock, respectively, in the late 50s/early 60s, not only did they join together the families – they also gave birth to what would become Anden Design Build Windows Doors.

Spriet was a trained consulting engineer/architect and Denny was a leader in the Ontario home renovation industry. In 1962 they decided to come together under the name, London Building Products. The name later changed to Anden – both to honour the company’s founders and to better reflect the company’s growing geographic influence.

Anden’s commitment to innovation has facilitated the company’s growth through an increasingly diverse product offering. From their start in pioneering the use of vinyl siding on residential homes in the 1960s, Anden has grown to offer a comprehensive range of renovation specialties, including seamless eavestrough systems, insulation, replacement windows and doors, metal roofing systems, and home-improvement finance.

The company has come a long way since the London Building Products days: by the early 1970s, Anden had established itself as Southwestern Ontario’s destination for renovation, with offices in Windsor, St. Catherines, Hamilton, Oshawa, Ottawa, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay complementing its London base.

Today, five decades later, the second generation is continuing that commitment to quality and excellence.
