The following plans illustrate the new layout planned for the Iroquois Project. The original layout was much more closed on the main floor, with the old kitchen located where the pantry/ office is now. The second floor has gone from 2 bedrooms and no bathrooms to 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. The foyer has been opened up with a new dormer to bring natural light into all three floors of the house.
The main floor has a large open kitchen with a great view of the back deck and pool, as well as a view through the dining room to the front yard. A full pantry with stand up freezer and tons of storage is unique for old south. The powder room is private and yet has nice access from the backyard pool and is big enough to act as a change room. There’s even pool towel storage convenient to the patio door.
The living and dining rooms are generously sized. The family room at the rear is a great place for the large screen television, comfortable sectional and still secluded from the rest of the house. A bonus office/ den space in another rarely seen benefit for an old south home.
The main stairwell flows up to a balcony overlooking the foyer and down to a private foyer in the basement. The guest suite is private and lovely for teenagers, visitors or inlaws. From the garage there’s a wide stairwell into a huge mudroom. The one side of the stairs stays dry in winter so the kids can make their way back upstairs without getting their socks wet from the snow residue.
